CREST Data Release Policy

The guidelines for using CREST data

  • The CREST IHEC Team provides original epigenome data (let us call them "CREST data") to the research community by respecting to the IHEC policy (Jan. 2013).
  • There are two types of CREST data: "open" and "controlled."
  • The open data are sequence data derived from cell cultures and processed data derived from the open and the controlled data. For using the open data, you can use them without our data access permission. However, please respect to our 9-month "moratorium" policy described below.
  • The controlled data are sequence data derived from tissue/organ samples retrieved under Informed Consent. For using the controlled data, you are required to apply for an appropriate data access permission which is explained at JGA/DDBJ website.
  • The CREST IHEC Team declares a 9-month "moratorium" on all sorts of publications (not limited to journal papers but also include publicly accessible web-contents and the like) that use more than two sample sets of CREST data in order to reserve our opportunity to publish first.
  • Please acknowledge the data producers as CREST IHEC Team in all presentations or publications that use CREST data.
